Team Achievements
Is team competition for your child? You’ve come to the right place.
You have undoubtedly read about the accomplishments if our Westchester Gymnastics team-on both team and individual levels-over the past 37 years. But in case you missed it, we have produced 10 New York State Champions, 8 New York State team Champions, and 3 Regional and National Champions!
Our gymnasts train for competition on the local, regional, national, international and Olympics levels; they compete in USA Gymnastics and U.S.A.I.G.C-sanctioned meets. Team members can participate in a program that requires practice twice a week through six times a week-sessions run from 1 ¾ to 4 hours a day.
High school-level competitors can take advantage of our successful training program in the evening. All our coaches are USA Gymnastics-recognized skill evaluators and are constantly up grading their teaching techniques. Any interested children can schedule an appointment with our coaches for evaluation.
Happy Active Birthday!
What better place to celebrate your child’s birthday then a huge gym where kids can run, Jump, swing, tumble and slide? On Saturdays and Sundays, Westchester Gymnastics teacher lead groups of partygoers in an hour of activities and games in the gym utilizing obstacle courses, the trampoline, foam pits, parachutes, and rings. After all that exercise, the group spends 45 minutes in our party room celebrating. Our staff will be happy to provide more information... but don’t wait too long-dates and times are usually booked 5 to 8 months in advance.
Kids Flip For Our Classes!
Ours is the premier movement program for pre-schoolers in Westchester. Children 18 months to 4 years experience a comprehensive and just plain fun skills program that focuses on developing motor coordination. Specially trained teachers work individually with kids on basic gross motor activities- walking running, hopping, jumping and balancing. Then, children are introduced to skills that fine-tune motor coordination –riding a tricycle, roller skating, bouncing on a trampoline, throwing and catching a ball, balancing on a beam, and, of course, jumping into the pits! When students demonstrate proficiency at one performance level, our teachers will recommend a higher level class... eventually leading into our topnotch gymnastics program.
Becoming a Gymnast
Boys and girls age 5 and up are enrolled in two programs; 1-hour
classes for Beginners and Intermediate; and 1½-hour classes for
Intermediate and Advanced performances. These classes use a
station approach requiring students to move from one set of
equipment to the next (unlike an obstacle course) performing
different activities at each station. This enables all tudents to
remain active and learning throughout their class. And because
there are groups of various skill levels performing in the gym at
the same time, students have the opportunity to observe and
learn from watching others even while they are moving on to their
next activity. Our teachers encourage and support your child
during instruction in an atmosphere of fun and games, not work
and pressure. We continually observe your child's performance
and keep you informed of his or her progress.
